If you have spilled out a deep secret of a friend or have insulted them, you should apoligize to them right away. Don't make any excuses, just know what you have done and apoligize. Maybe they would forgive you, or maybe the wouldn't. But it's always good to apoligize.
But sometimes it's a better choice to forget about friendships. Sometimes, the friend isn't so great. Maybe he or she backstabbed you. Or maybe hurt your feelings. That's not always great so you should think about that.
